Nomar doubts! Jul31 '04

As if Cubs tickets aren’t hard enough to find already – the big trade will make things even tougher.

I was lucky to attend one game already, thanks to one of my Dad’s co–workers. And with just two tickets for that game, Michelle got her early birthday gift, since I probably won’t be able to find tickets for her actual big day – September 6.

Tomorrow’s Cubs game is a pretty big game, considering the facts: Greg Maddux is pitching, and going for his 300th career win. Nomar will hopefully be in uniform, and what an amazing sight that will be – to see him running out on the field. Nomar goes from one old ballpark to the next. Boston’s Fenway Park is the oldest park that is still in use, and Wrigley Field is second to that.

One question going through my head is ESPN coverage of the game, which up until right now, is non–existent. The game is scheduled for 1:20 PM. ESPN covers Sunday night baseball games, usually starting at 7 PM. A game as big as this – you would think ESPN could swing something. It seems unlikely, considering the game time would have to be moved to 7 PM, on such short notice... but I don’t think anyone would mind, even ticket holders.

We’ll see if anything happens.
