Uptime for a restart Sep11 '04
My Mac seemed to be running really slow. I mean, I know a G4 isn’t quite a G5, but come on – this was unbearable. It would take 10 whole seconds just to switch applications. Seriously. Count out ten seconds as you switch applications, and let me know how painful that becomes on the second or third time.
I think it just needed to be restarted.
I went to Terminal, and typed uptime at the prompt:
Yeah, it was definitely a good time to restart the computer. 13 days without a restart is a recipe for disaster, although I know I’ve gone longer.
And, what do you know? It is now back to it’s old speedy form.
