Christmas music hacks Nov08 '04

Inspired by a post on Amanda’s site, I’ve come down with "Christmas fever." Well... I just feel at peace, that’s all.

So... I went over to iTunes (man, what a long walk!), to check out their Christmas selection, and hey! – they just put up an entire section of Christmas albums by various artists.

On one of the albums, I noticed Avril Lavigne playing a role:

Avril Lavigne sings Christmas?

Ouch.

Avril Lavigne on Christmas? Those two just don’t mix.

And worse... she is covering "O Holy Night" – my favorite Christmas song.

I sampled the song to see how badly one person could butcher a Christmas melody. My ears hurt after I heard it.

Avril... stick to sappy teenage love songs. You have a niche there, it seems.

Why can’t Norah Jones sing Christmas? Boy, would that be sweet...
