Holiday weekend starts now, including Netflix

If you receive a few Netflix movies today or tomorrow, don’t rush to watch them, and send them back.

Due to the holiday Monday, Netflix shipping and receiving centers will be closed. So, the earliest your DVD will be shipped or received will be Tuesday, May 31.

Let’s say you send some movies back tomorrow, or Friday morning. Netflix will receive those movies on Friday or Saturday. Even if they ship your next available movie on Friday or Saturday, it won’t arrive until Tuesday, no matter what.

So, you might as well take your time with your movies, and return them all on Saturday morning. That way, they will be at your Netflix shipping center on Monday, waiting to be checked in, on Tuesday. And then your next movies should ship on Tuesday.

Beware! If you ship late Saturday (after the mail has been collected), or on Sunday or Monday – your DVD(s) won’t even move until Tuesday mid–day.

And, at that point, Netflix would not receive your DVD(s) until Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

So, enjoy your movies tomorrow and Friday, and have some finished by Saturday. That’s plenty of time.

Perhaps, like the rest of the business world, you should start your holiday weekend now.
