Constant Firefox updates comparable to IE

I have been using Firefox as my primary web browser, for quite some time now. One thing that aggravates me is the constant updates that keep getting released. It’s not the update that’s bad - it’s the fact that I have to always visit the Mozilla site, download the package, unpack it, and drag it to my Apps folder. Every time... same process. Over and over. Recently, it seems that Firefox is being updated every month. That’s way too much updating for me. It is currently on version 1.0.6 , and every time that third number is incremented, another download has to happen. The funny part is... I’ve check the release notes for each new version, and the new features always seem to say the same thing:
Wow. Thanks for the in-depth analysis. Now I really want the update. Sure, security fixes are important enough to immediately release a new version, but I’m beginning to feel like it’s the old days of Internet Explorer - always having to download a new "security update." Comments/MentionsHere you go brother they must have seen your entry and updated the Firefox 2.0/3.0 Roadmap. They have decided to skip the 1.1 major release and go right to 1.5 to reflect the sheer amount of security updates |

Welcome to the world of computing. Thats what happens you need upgrades and bug fixes. There aren't new features in each of the third digit increments. It's why they increment the third digit and not the first. First digit increments are for major releases. Besides I would rather have my browser upgraded every five seconds than my shit hacked. My firefox for windows has a thing that alows me to just click a little alert in the top right hand corner and it does all the work for me. No unpacking or applications folders.
