It’s all White Sox - the next 7 days Oct22 '05

The vibe is intense, here in Chicago. The White Sox are set to play in their first World Series, since the 1950's - in about (T minus) 20 minutes.

I am not a Sox fan, but I love baseball, and I am excited to see this level of attention brought to this city - for the first time since the Bulls reigned, in the early 90's.

Things will be on hold, here - in Chicago, for the next 7 days. This city will hold it's breath, hang on every pitch, and come together - for better or worse. We are laying it all on the line - and if we fail, we are better for knowing it. But if we succeed, this coming week will be an impression in the history of Chicago.

I am glad I am alive to see a World Series come here. I never thought I'd see the day.

And, as much as I am happy for the White Sox, and take part in the excitement - I can only hope for this same scenario, with the Cubs.

I'm young. I have time. I know the Cubs can do it. Even if I'm 82, and bald, I will be celebrating in the streets, when that happens (and I'll blog about it after).

However - tonight, tomorrow night, and a few nights during next week - it's all White Sox.

It's all Chicago. This is gonna be a fun ride.
