Flashy band web sites: Firefox, please help Oct25 '05
I really wish band web sites would stop using Flash. I hate Flash. It locks my browser up every time. It’s bulky, non-bookmarkable, and just a general waste of browsing time. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to Force Quit out of Firefox (and lose 15 browser tabs in the process), simply because I decided to visit a band web site, which uses Flash.
All I want is information. I don’t need to see some animated introduction, or flashy button links. Why do bands think that people have the patience or time to sit through all that crap?
Because of Flash, it’s so hard for me to stay informed about many bands that I like.
Tim already mentioned some good points about bands with a web site:
Your music is your art, not your website.
At the very least, I wish Firefox would come out with some sort of plugin that saves all browser tabs, continuously, in case of a locked-up computer, or browser.
I wouldn’t feel as bad, then, of losing all my opened web pages, because they’d be saved, and just a quick click to re-open.
