Is tonight the night? Oct26 '05
Well, my friends, tonight could be the night that Chicago wins a championship. Better yet - a World Series. Never, in my lifetime, did I think this could happen. I always dreamed of it, pondered it, and tossed it around in my head, when I was younger, playing baseball in my front yard.
Of course, it’s the wrong team (I’m a Cubs fan), but still huge for Chicago.
Driving to work this morning, letting Fix You by Coldplay fill the car, I almost merged to tears, over the thought of this event.
Sure, it won’t be anywhere near as hyped as if the Cubs were to do it - or when the Bulls did it, in the early 90’s, but Chicago will still be pretty nuts, tomorrow - if they do it tonight.
Expect a lot of photos (from the bar) - because if they do it tonight, I want to remember where I was, and who I was with.
This may never happen again, in my lifetime. You understand that, right?
So, Thursday could be a very groggy day, so if I miss your sarcasm, forgive me.
And... (me, always the realist), if they don’t win tonight, we’ll do it again tomorrow!
