New recorded song - Nada Surf Oct29 '05

Although I was hesitant, at first, I am going to release this new recording, despite my wish to make it better.

Sometimes, you just have to go with it, and move on to the next challenge.

The song I recorded is called Blizzard of ‘77, by Nada Surf. It includes an introduction, as well.

The vocals were challenging. I’m not a vocalist - I just pretend. So, what you hear is what you get.

I’m also in the process of creating a new section for this site, specifically for my recorded music. So far, I’ve released two recordings - this is the second, and the first was Goals, by John Frusciante.

Heck - you might even notice me progress, over time - in my abilities. (I’d surprise myself, too.)

Anyway, here are the lyrics (the chords are available upon request, because I’m too lazy, at the moment, to include them). This is Blizzard of ‘77, by Nada Surf:

Standard tuning - Capo 3rd fret

Verse 1:

in the blizzard of ’77
the cars were just lumps on the snow
and then later
tripping in 7-11
the shelves were stretching out of control
on a plane ride
the more it shakes
the more i have to let go
now the signals
still getting all mixed up
we’re always doing damage control

Chorus:

but in the middle of the night i worry
it’s blurry even without light

Verse 2:

i know i have got a negative edge
that’s why i sharpen all the others a lot
it’s like flowers or ladybugs
pretty weeds or red beetles with dots

(chorus)

i miss you more than i knew

(repeat)
