I am grateful for... Nov06 '05
Some things I am grateful for, and that we all are very lucky to have:
- Headphones. It’s amazing to have music from our favorite bands play at any time we want to hear them - streamed to our ears only. 50 years ago, that would have been science fiction.
- Audiobooks. Who would have thought reading books could be so convenient?
- DVD’s. Instantaneous video - at our fingertips. No rewinding, no set-up - just pop it in, and press play.
- Credit cards. Enough said.
- Cars. What most people commute in one day would have taken weeks, just 100 years ago.
- Digital cameras. Capturing a moment has never been easier to share with the entire world, mere minutes after the photo was taken.
- Fast food. Despite the calorie risk, hot food is available on every street corner - whenever we feel the urge to eat, practically 24 hours a day.
- Google. No longer are questions too dumb to ask. These days, it’s dumb if you didn’t "google it," first.
- My sense of reality. It’s amazing how often we take for granted the "right frame of mind."
