I believe you forget the "EEEEEVVVVVEEEEERRRRRR" in your title. Kinko's is a homeless man's armpit. Every time I leave Kinko's my girlfriend has her head hidden, hoping no one will see her with someone who would say such things. Kinko's has the worst customer service on earth. This is not an issue isolated to your local Kinko's. I have never been to a Kinko's where I didn't get attitude. I chalk it up to a poor business practice of solely hiring bitter art school dropouts who think that they have a right to be arrogant.

It's obvious that it's written in big letters in the staff handbook "TO WORK FOR KINKOS YOU MUST BE AS RUDE AND ABRUPT AS YOU CAN. IF YOU DO NOT FULFIL THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE TERMINATED AND EATEN BY OTHER FERAL ZOMBIES... ER... KINKOS STAFF"

Pardon the caps but they're exactly the same here in Australia. Only with the simple difference of somehow managing to get a second abusive staff member working on duty.

Ah, my neighbors recently vented about this as well: Kinkos: miserable attention to detail.

Not about customer service, but along the same lines.

The basic result is: Kinko's sucks.

Yes, Kinko’s does suck. Doesn’t it make sense that a place that understaffs as a rule and does not train its employees might have some problems? Corporate rules make it IMPOSSIBLE to provide good customer service because usually there is only one competent (severely underpaid) person working - trying to do the job of 5 or 6. That makes for a very stressful work environment and when you have 20 customers who can’t figure out how to hit the big green start button it is very hard to be patient - no matter who you are.

Every Kinko’s I’ve been to typically has just one employee working at a time, and that employee is usually very rude and abrupt - like they have no patience for anything the customer needs.
