Google Calendar issues Jul11 '06

Google Calendar is my obvious choice for an online calendar, because I already use Gmail, and some would say that Google is a pretty reliable web presence, who should be around for a very long time. In this manner, I can rely on my data being there for quite some time.

As it stands right now, I use GCal quite often, but there is one thing that really needs to be fixed.

GCal allows you to create multiple calendars - which helps organize your events. For example, I have a calendar for work, one for sporting events, one for family events, etc.

However, the only calendar that can receive alerts is the primary calendar. (Related)

One of the main reasons I use a calendar application is for alerts.

So Google has, so far, let me down. What is the point of letting users create multiple calendars, if they can’t access some of the best features of the application?

When will this get fixed?

You can get any type of alert - email or SMS - but only on your "primary" calendar. If your calender has any depth to it ... Read more.
