Griffin iMic for single-track recording Mar01 '07
I received an Apple email newsletter about "recording music and podcasts on your Mac."
I noticed they reference an external digital audio input device, FastTrack, priced at $100.00.

This is a reasonable price, but for simple "one-instrument input," I have been using Griffin's iMic for a couple of years now.
The iMic is only $40.00, and the sound quality is pretty good.
With the iMic, I can't do multi-track recording, but I really don't need that just yet. GarageBand makes it easy to record each track separately, and then merge them together.
So I typically record the guitar or piano portion first, and then go back and do the vocals.
This combination works well, but long-term, I'd like to use multi-track recording, since it saves a lot of steps.
