OK, so for this example, your comment does add value to the original post. Yet it also asks some questions, indirectly. Open-ended questions that may need to be brainstormed some more.
Not pointing at you specifically, but in general, wouldn't it be more useful for such feedback to be posted on a blog - where the energy put forth by the author of the comment is much more centralized and viable?
That's kind of the idea I'm getting at...

For personal blogs I think this is a great approach, but look here, I'm leaving a comment on your blog because it is a way for you and I to exchange ideas. Maybe the web blogging software is to blame, maybe other sites have it right by moving "follow-up material" to another section, more like a forum approach. Wordpress, Drupal, Community Server, Mephisto, other blog software would have to make this easier for administrators.
Also, quoting large sections of someone else's thoughts then saying "I agree" is arguably the same problem as Joel and others are pointing out in my opinion. One thing I agree about though is anonymous comments are almost always worthless, especially considering the high rate of SPAM.
