Monumint: Many Mints on a single web page

December 3, 2007 / Filed under: Mint, Plugins

Shaun Inman recently released a free web-based utility for his famous stats-tracking package, Mint, called Monumint.

Monumint allows you to view Mint stats from multiple domains (called Leaves), all on a single web page, using frames. Since Mint is so cheap, easy to install, and fun to use, many Mint users have installed the software on more than one domain. However, the process of manually visiting each domain to view relevant site stats was cumbersome.

Shaun has solved this problem, and it looks great! Here's an example screenshot of how Monumint looks for two domains (Leaves) I own with Mint installed:

He's even tossed in a iPod Touch and iPhone version for mobile stat viewing!

How it works

  1. Choose to install on any of your domains that already has Mint installed.
  2. Upload the required files into your /mint/ directory.
  3. Modify the settings so each Mint-installed domain is specified.
  4. Visit http://yourdomain.com/mint/m/ in the browser, and see all of your Mint stats on a single page!

Right now it uses frames, and sets 3 as the default width (in order to avoid messy horizontal scrolling).

My thoughts

I know this was a very popular feature request, and Shaun made it happen. The approach is simplified and effective.
