25 random things about me

This trend was started on Facebook, but I'd rather blog it. Also, I don't care to "tag" 25 other people after I post this - really who wants to be bothered with that?

What follows is 25 random things about me, in no particular order or sequence. These things just popped into my head as I sat down to write. Don't take any of them to my grave or anything - a person can change a lot even in one day.

  1. I smoked pot once and didn't like it.
  2. I am religious about keeping my fingernails trimmed to perfection.
  3. I try to eat a piece of fruit every day.
  4. I love going to the gym to workout. It's my "escape" from the world.
  5. I am not an environmental fanatic, but I always try to recycle or reuse.
  6. I love bringing my own lunch to work and saving money.
  7. I rarely ever drink regular soda (sugar and caffeine). Only on special occasions where I'd like a "treat." I always opt for sugar-free, caffeine free alternatives.
  8. I like to wipe my computer desk area at least once a week with Windex or 409.
  9. I dislike when people do not say "please" or "thank you." It takes a second of your time, really.
  10. I am a freak with staying organized and getting things done. It's like a drug.
  11. The only reason I ever go offline (disconnected) is to sleep. Otherwise I hate being offline for more than 10 minutes at a time.
  12. I am a quiet person, but I don't consider myself "anti-social." I am a good listener, and listening is 90% of being "social."
  13. I dabble with acoustic guitar, but would not consider myself "good" at it.
  14. I lived at my parents house until I was 29.
  15. I hate driving. It's "stress in a bottle," as I like to call it.
  16. I don't watch TV to pass the time. I'd much rather stare at a wall and think about things. That's a much more productive use of my time and mental powers.
  17. I like weather in the 40's and 50's. Year-round, I would love it to always be that.
  18. I love the uniforms, colors, and "crispness" of the NBA.
  19. I am a graphic designer working in a web development field.
  20. I love bold, individualistic female vocalists like Alanis, Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Joan Osborne, etc.
  21. I've been "blogging," or involved with some form of publishing content on the web since 2001.
  22. I broke my nose getting hit dead-on with a baseball. An inch to the left and I may have lost sight in one eye.
  23. I can't swim.
  24. I love "jelly" candies, like those Sunkist circles.
  25. I am tweeting right now.

Hi Matt,

Being a people person, I found your personality traits interesting.

I TOO wish more people would be mannerly to others.

I love the way you described the concept of being "social."

As soon as I awaken, my computer and radio both get switched on and the computer stays on until I get back into bed.

I feel most comfortable in the same temps as you do.

I too love Alanis' personality.

WOW...you made me realize how vitally important an inch can be.
